Ornamental patterning on an Indian arboreal that does not forgive a careless lid. Poecilotheria striata, the Mysore Ornamental, is one of the southern Indian ornamentals, built flat and fast for life pressed against bark. The genus carries the intricate cryptic banding that makes a Poecilotheria disappear against wood the instant it stops moving. This one arrived at 1.5 to 2 inches, past sling fragility and into the stage where the pattern starts to resolve. Spice Level 4: Advanced. This is a medically significant Old World arboreal: extremely fast, far more likely to bolt than to posture, and never handled. It wants a tall enclosure with vertical cork, dim placement, and strong cross ventilation, and every maintenance visit should assume it will move before you do. The Big Z's care guide covers the enclosure and bite-risk detail in full.
